New York Investing in Wind

Deepwater Wind, an off-shore wind company has recently started building it's second wind-farm located in the United States. This farm is going to be located off the coast of Long Island, and is going to provide electricity for up to 50,000 homes according to the Governor's office.

While many European nations and even China are far ahead of the U.S. in terms of wind sourced energy, this is a step in the right direction. Countries like Denmark and Germany have proved that off-shore wind farms can create renewable, safe and AFFORDABLE energy.

Even though the new Administration does not seem very keen on renewable energy, instead favoring more traditional methods, I am excited to see where a company like Deepwater Wind will find itself in the near future. Politicians on both sides of the aisle have pledged to pour trillions of dollars into infrastructure investment.
